Can Najib be the Prime Minister for all Malaysians? A very big question mark and I can safely say that he will not and cannot be a true PM for all Malaysians. He may be talking big and I quote from Bernama report dated Oct 27:
"Come March, there will be no change of government, but only a change of leadership and we are still in one family," he said.
However, he added, of late questions were raised over the social contract, Federal Constitution and Article 153 which provided for Malay special rights.
"These we will protect as well as the rights and interests of the non-Malay communities in the country," he assured.
If he wants to protect the Malay special rights and also to protect the rights and interests of the non-Malay communities, why mince his words. Just one simple sentence to clarify the whole thing
"The Rights And Interest Of All Malaysians Will Be Protected"
To provide special rights to one particular person means that a part of another person rights have to be taken away to enable that particular person to gain that special rights.
Why must umno keep harping on the issue that certain quarters are questioning the social contract and the malay special rights. From my understanding there is nobody questioning these but umno just keep twisting the actual complaints about the system attributed to these special rights that have been misused and benefits to just a certain group of malays.
I just wonder what will be Najib response to this Malaysiakini report:
Chinese heads PKNS: Staff say 'No'
Six staff bodies of state agency Selangor Development Corporation (PKNS) have objected to the appointment of a senior official as acting general manager on grounds that she is Chinese.
'PKNS must be led by a Malay'
'We don't deny her capabilities'
Full Malaysiakini report here.
If there is no change of government and only the change in leadership as predicted by Najib, than I call upon Najib to study this statement by the Perak Raja Muda Raja Nazrin Shah obtain from Malaysia Today and admit that what Raja Nazrin Shah said are actually happening in this country and he will dare to make rights all the wrong doings of his predecessors.
Governments can no longer afford to formulate policies, laws and regulations on a discriminatory basis and in an ethical vacuum, said Perak Raja Muda Raja Nazrin Shah said.
“No segment of society must be disrespected, discredited and disenfranchised. No group should feel that their efforts and contributions go unrecognised and unwanted.
“We must abandon the ‘silo’ mentality where we only look up at what is happening and not beside us at what others are experiencing,” Raja Nazrin said at the 21st LawAsia Conference.
Bringing this about is one of the greatest challenges of governance today. For this reason, he said that there was case for empowering through the principle of inclusiveness.
“Only inclusive development through empowerment can societies become strong and we can achieve lasting outcomes,” he told lawyers, judges and students of law in his keynote address.
He said that not empowering citizens could lead to “a deep sense of alienantion and hostility” that could cause “ rash acts of violence that fracture societies.”
“We cannot morally turn our backs on the fundamental responsibility of ensuring that all stakeholders in our society, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, have a place under the sun.”
“But by closing our two eyes to problems does help in building unity and integration required to face the economic and social turmoil that is likely to result. “Empowerment is a precondition for an integrated and progressive Asia. Interestingly enough, the forces that can connect Asia also have the potential to empower its people.”
He cited five areas that could empower Asia.
“The first prerequisite of empowerment must be to strengthen the rule of law. The law has the capacity to unite and enfranchise the people of Asia like no other.
“The second source of empowerment is greater political participation. One of the essential tasks of Asia’s leaders is to convert residents into citizens and citizens into stakeholders.
“It is only when citizens are also stakeholders will there be the widest sense of ownership of problems and challenges. In order for Asian countries to weather this storm, governance systems must be broadly based and consultative to minimise non-cooperative behaviour.”
A third prerequisite for empowerment is that values and beliefs need to be changed and this is never a straightforward task.
A fourth source of empowerment is technology, particularly information and communication technology.
A fifth source of empowerment is education that breaks the chains of oppressive traditions and extremism.
“Education has paved the way for many to find their way out of poverty and for countries to sharpen their competitive edge,” Raja Nazrin added.
Unfortunately, he said that good quality education was still a dream for many.

Jokes By Our Jokers Entertained Worldwide
Reading the daily news from Malaysiakini, Malaysia Today, The Malaysian Insider and political blogs can be fun. Our country news are full of jokes by our jokers who thought that they are smarter than the rakyat just because they are leaders with absolute powers and of course above the law as well. They assume that they own this country and the rakyat must bow to them and praise them at whatever they do, good or bad, most of the time bad lah, but to them they can twist and turn about the bad things that they do because of their power, and remember, they are above the law as well.
The best joke of the year, in my opinion, is of course "they need to ISA'ed you in order to protect you". For RPK case, I think they want to provide the same reasoning, that is to protect him from harm because he had insulted islam in his blog posting, fearing muslims might go after him but reconsidered and just stick to insulting islam because one cannot used the same reasoning twice. This reasoning is now being challenge in the Habeas Corpus hearing in court.
Politicians and elected representatives are suppose to be educated adults and should know whether they are being bullied. The situation with Malaysia's politicians is whether they allow themselves to be bullied but because of some personal incentives gains they preferred to keep quiet about it.
After over four decades of being bullied with complete silence suddenly they woke up one day and found out that they are being bullied. Presumably it must be the 8.5 Richter Scale earthquake on 08/03/08 that shock them from their slumber. Top leaders of component parties are screaming that they are being bullied and the reply from their taiko as reported by Malaysiakini:
Abdullah: Umno is not a bully
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has dismissed suggestions that Umno has over-dominated the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition at the expense of other component parties.
The jokes does not end here. Using the rakyat hard earn money to purchase equipments at double the price compare to other countries purchasing the same equipments at half the price. This is not a ringgit or two lost but in billions of ringgit, mind you.
Because of power and monetary gains, the government will never admit that they are the jokers providing all the daily jokes to entertain the whole world. They will continue to jokes, (even though the rakyat does not find it amusing) as long as these jokes can keep them in power and their bank accounts keep on growing.
There are of course tonnes of jokes by these jokers over these years and more to come. If you have any jokes by these jokers maybe you can present them in the comment slot.

Makkal Sakti It Shall Be For MalaysiaKini
A very interesting report by Malaysiakini:
Goverment declares Hindraf an illegal organisation
The government today declared the Hindu Rights Actions Force (Hindraf) an illegal organisation with immediate effect.
Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar said the decision was made after the ministry was satisfied with facts and evidence that showed "Hindraf had and was being used for unlawful purposes and posed a threat to public order and morality". Malaysiakini full report here.
HINDRAF is not an organization nor party but an imaginary peaceful thought in the human minds. How can it be unlawful and a threat to public order and morality. Syed Hamid Albar, because of your power you just want to intimidate the rakyat to succumb to your own fantasy of what peace is. You can have HINDRAF but you can never control or take the human minds with the power vested in you, by the rakyat, just remember that.
We want to see how many imaginary thoughts the powerful botak wants to take away. To all EX-HINDRAF supporters, do not feel bad about botak taking away HINDRAF to satisfy his own ego.
We will rise together with another imaginary human thoughts and that is
Makkal Sakti
I would like to quote from YB Lim Kit Siang Blog:
Deepavali wishes to Hindu Malaysians and all Malaysians – Makkal Sakti so that good can triumph over evil in our motherland.

Wither The Bold And Big Talk From MCA And Gerakan
The ISA today is not used for the intended purpose of fighting the communists but to sustain the life line of umno/bn. It is very clearly shown these last two months how the ISA was used to detain blogger, journalist, MP and activist not that they are a threat to the country security and neither are they communists but a thorn in the flesh of the ruling government. An opposition-initiated petition calling for a debate on the Internal Security Act (ISA) in the Dewan Rakyat when it reconvenes after the Deepavali break received total rejection by the bn MPs except for Billy Abit, a five-term MP for Hulu Rajang and vice-president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak.
Malaysiakini reported that Billy Abit Jol is the sole Barisan Nasional MP to have signed the petition urging the prime minister to prioritise the debate on the Internal Security Act when Parliament reconvenes on Wednesday. Malaysiakini full report here.

The petition signed by 85 MPs - 81 from Pakatan Rakyat, three independents and one from BN - was delivered to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s office yesterday morning.
On my earlier posting These ISA Detainees Are Not Forgotten, I mentioned that "Can we count on them, I doubt it" proves that I am right. MCA and Gerakan, as usual can only blow hot air at their general assemblies and conferences but cannot stand up to umno taiko status and so ever willing to bow to their demand.
Here is the recap of what I wrote earlier.MCA said they won't drop the ISA issue and at MCA’s 55th annual general assembly MCA adopted a resolution urging the Government to review the Internal Security Act
while at Gerakan’s 37th national delegates conference, Gerakan passed the resolution calling for the repeal of the ISA.
Can we count on them, I doubt it. We the rakyat must voice out loud and clear to the government that the ISA must GO. The final option, if all calls fall on deaf ears, is to vote them out totally in the next general election.
Can we believe MCA and Gerakan are able to practice what they preach? They failed to sign the simple ISA petition after all their big talks about it, demonstrate that they can never ever work and fight for the rakyat but a running dog to umno!
Lies, Deceits, Power And Money In Our MalaysiaKini
Malaysiakini reported that:
Kuala Lumpur police chief DCP Datuk Mohammad Sabtu Osman said eight men, three women and a child were detained for representing or acting for an oulawed organisation or group under Section 48 of the Societies Act.
They will continue to use various indiscriminate actions disguise as security measures to confuse the public from the real truth of what is happening to the country.
There is no telling when these will ever end. As long as umno/bn still cling on to power, the lies, deceits, power and money play will be the norm and practice of all the ruling politicians.
We are entering into a devastating stage but the ruling government are still in denial mood. They are smart enough to cover their crimes by creating imaginary religious and racial tension situations at the expense of the rakyat.
The dramas they put up are to distract the rakyat from their incompetence of running the country. There are signs everywhere that shows the cover up of the murder of a foreign lady, corruptions among top leaders, the breakdown and infighting within umno and the tight rein they have over the judiciary and PDRM.
What better way to silence RPK for his vicious attacks that may send some of them to jail, ISA'ed RPK. Fanning untrue reports about Teresa Kok through their control medias and have her spent 8 days in jail under the ISA. Tan Hoon Cheng needs to be protected by jailing her under the ISA.
These abuse of power to detain all three of them under the ISA are distractions and letting the rakyat busy harping and busy burning candle lights against the ISA while they continue to mismanage the country. They will continue to use the ISA indiscriminately against anyone at the slightest provocation against the top leaders.
Next, they ban the Hindraf movement. It's not an organization neither is it a political party but it's in the form of human being spiritually, interacting among each other for strength. What are they really banning, nothing, but again here, is to distract the rakyat from their mismanagement.

The latest distraction is the detaining of a six years old girl. Why do they do it knowing very well that the whole public will voice out against them. They could not care less so long as the top leaders mismanagement are obscured through these kind of indiscriminate actions.
But they are so wrong! They can continue to abuse their power but not for long. We have the patience for the past 51 years of the abuse that they throw at us. We can wait patiently for another few years before we "The People's Power" will throw them out.

Will That Blogger Defend Karpal Singh
Malaysiakini has this report:
Karpal suspended for two days from Parliament
DAP chairperson Karpal Singh has been suspended for two days from Parliament for accusing Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia of being "not serious" and "playful".
Malaysiakini full report here.
We has a blogger who defended Utusan on the pretext of "freedom of the press" even though the news reported are not fully clarified and considered false. In the word of this particular blogger "BUT I don't think politicians like Teresa Kok and Najib Razak should SUE at the slightest of provocation".
On the pretext of "freedom of expression" can I question why the speaker invokes his powers under Article 44 (3) against Bukit Gelugor, and suspend Karpal for two days for using disrespectful words in the House.
Can we say the same here, the speaker and all MPs are politicians and the speaker should not invoke his powers at the slightest provocation.
I do not see that blogger comes in defend of Karpal or is he saying that politicians must respect the rules of parliament and they deserve to be punished for going against it, whereas, the news media like utusan can go against all principle of journalism and when confronted will use "freedom of the press" as defence.
Malaysia is in such a sorry state, that all rules of laws are turn upside down including bloggers manipulating the main principle of laws to suit their own benefits.

These ISA Detainees Are Not Forgotten
How do you feel if your love one is listed below? The ISA does not belong to the 21st century, it must be repealed. Show your support by joining the calls to abolish this draconian law. We want to hear from you, your opinion, suggestions and any other ways that we can do to together to help the release of all these detainees and repeal the ISA.
Malaysiakini reported that:
Source: Aliran On the advise of various parties, some photos were not displayed.

KDC - Sent To Kamunting Detention Center

This ISA act, detaining without trial, can happen to your daughters. They cannot justify any reasons for these three women being detained under the ISA (since released). This shows that they can abuse this ISA act. They can simply arrest anyone when they feel like it, when their power is threaten or simply put, "Abuse Of Power".

PKR Penang Hari Raya Open House
PKR held this Hari Raya Open House at the Dewan Jubilee Sungai Dua just across from the Pesta site. I arrive around 12:30pm and the crowd was already building up. Malaysians of all races lining up to shake hands with the YBs and children tagging along were given money packets and coupons to redeem the tasteful ice cream.
On other sides you can see three long queues, waiting patiently for their turn to grap some foods and drinks. The crowd is well over a couple of thousands, while some are leaving, more are arriving.
Everyone is mingling around freely and I was surprised that no one stop me from entering the vvip arena, where I manage to get a few photos of the vvip. No one istoppingstopping anyone from entering the carnival like event.
I left at 2pm and can still see more people arriving. The open house is from noon to 5pm and my guestimate of those who came could easily be well over three thousand.

While this Hari Raya Open House is open to all regardless of who you are and enjoy by all, the PM open house although is called an open house but do not welcome a certain group of Malaysians.

PM rebukes Hindraf over noisy Raya visit
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi expressed ‘disappointment’ with the manner in which Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) activists 'visited' the ministerial Hari Raya 'open house' last Wednesday. Malaysiakini full report here.
Is Badawi a joker, in this type of environment, surely it must be noisy. They are not going to a temple to pray or a solemn occasion or a funeral!

A Challenge To UMNO - Kick MCA Out - MalaysiaKini
Why is this wayang kulit keeps on replaying itself every time umno and its bn component parties are having their elections. All of you only dare to speak out loud during this time and will go into mute mood after the parties elections.
For once show your cards and be done with. It is rather disgraceful for umno and mca to counter each other as base on these reports by Malaysiakini.
In his swan song speech, outgoing MCA president Ong Ka Ting says that the ‘power sharing’ principle in Barisan Nasional was not practiced in the right spirit. Ong Ka Ting said the public perceives that Umno is the dominant member of Barisan Nasional and that the coalition’s ‘power sharing’ concept was not effective.
Read full report here.
Then may I ask MCA: Why are you still hanging in there. Take MCA out of BN and be done with. Don't make all the empty noises after the election that umno is still the best coalition partner, close door discussion to fulfill all the Chinese demands, umno will listen to our request so on and so forth.
This is not the rakyat perceptions but the actual truth that umno is the dominant member and taiko to you all and there is never any power sharing concept since the 70's.
In another Malaysiakini reports;
The premier, in rebutting a remark made by the outgoing MCA chief, has denied that Umno has ever ‘bullied’ other component parties at their expense.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has dismissed suggestions that Umno has over-dominated the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition at the expense of other component parties.
Read full report here.
Badawi, why are you still lying. Can you for once stop lying before you step down, or have you already been exterminated. If you insist that you are right, then OKT must be wrong and a liar. If this is the case then you have a very easy way to handle OKT and mca.
I challenge you to tell OKT and mca straight in their faces:
"GET OUT OF BARISAN NATIONAL IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH OUR PARTNERSHIP".
Have you or any of your umno members got the ball at this time to kick mca out?

People's Power - Lesson To Learn
People's Power does not mean taking to the streets carrying weapons, burning tyres or rampaging shops. These may happen in other countries but not in our own country unless the rakyat is push against the wall with certain people in power trying hard to create unrest in order for them to stay in power.
Malaysians maturity have grown over the years and the people's power action is used in the non violent way just like the recent General Election. There are many ways that actions by People's Power need not be violent.
We are now living in the virtual world where communication is done within seconds around the world. The use of sms, satellites and computers are increasing every day in Malaysia. People tend to use these gadgets to pass informations and messages without first confirming the actual facts or the truth of it.
I like to bring you the message "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" by Hannah Yeoh, State Assemblyman for Subang Jaya.
"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
While March 8 has given Malaysians a taste of people's power, it has also brought along another problem. Some people now feel they can say just about anything without taking responsibility for their statements and we see people giving a "piece of their mind" whenever the opportunity arises.
Lately I have been receiving sms from unknown numbers relating to some issues in Subang Jaya. May I just remind residents to be cautious of the things you read and the things you forward to others? March 8 has given Malaysians a lot of courage to speak up but this must be accompanied by wisdom, truth, accuracy, courtesy and graciousness. We sometimes blame the media for spreading half truth, lies or inaccurate news but what about ourselves?
Always make efforts to verify the accuracy of your materials before forwarding them to others. With great power comes great responsibility. Malaysians must learn to handle their new found "freedom" with care. Test everything. Filter your own thoughts and ask yourselves questions. I do that and if I don't have the answer, I would not unreasonably expect others to have it. It takes the entire team of Malaysians to change Malaysia for good. Let's work on this together...
Malaysiakini reported the home minister declares Hindraf an illegal organisation. Hindraf is there because of People's Power and so far they are peaceful even in their biggest 25 Nov 2007 rally but were water cannoned forcing some to retaliate. Letters sent in to Malaysiakini about the Hindraf ban can be accessed here.

17th October Penang Candle Light Vigil
Release All ISA Detainees
Yes, another downpour albeit a short one did not dampen the spirit. More then 500 people turn up for this sixth and last candle vigil at the Dewan Sri Pinang. The voices are loud and a clear message being sent to the authorities that the rakayt are against the ISA and want it to be repealed.
Although this is the last candle light vigil, the voice calling for the ISA to be repealed remains loud and ongoing.
Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA and Amnesty International will be having special program in remembrance of the shameful 21st Anniversary Operation Lalang.
Date: 19th Oct. 2008
Venue: Open space at Prangin Mall (beside/outside Starbucks)
Time: 12 noon - 10pm
Programme includes video screening about the Internal Security Act (ISA)and Exhibition.

Malaysiakini late evening headlines:
'Arrest Khairy under ISA'
A MCA Youth delegate today called on the authorities to detain Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for making racist remarks. Malaysiakini full report here.
The ISA must go and I do not agree with mca to use the ISA on Khairy. If he has done anything wrong, mca must make a police report and let the law handle him.
Penang Anti-ISA Candle Light Vigil

This is the six and last of the anti-ISA candle light vigil to be held this FRIDAY, Oct 17, at 9.00pm in front of Dewan Sri Pinang with songs, speeches and messages.
Malaysians no longer accept draconian laws such as the ISA where individuals are arbitrary arrested without a fair trail. Since the ISA was enacted in 1960, over 10,000 people have been detained under this notorious Act.
Come and show solidarity to RPK, Hindraf 5 and many others who are unjustly detained.
Bring your family and friends to this candle vigil.
Lets do it together and send a strong message to the government that we do not need the ISA.

MalaysiaKini Needs Salvation
Engagement and not suppression will be the key to a civil society
Quote from Dr. Hsu's forum
MalaysiaKini needs salvation. Our beloved Malaysia today is in a real bad shape. There is totally no law that can apply to all the unlawful acts by the ruling umno/bn government but tonnes of laws to inflict on any one who challenges it.
Their appetite is still not full after the wrongful incarnation of journalist Tan Hoon Cheng under the ISA for 18 hours, 7 days for MP Teresa Kok and the still imprisoned Raja Petra and now Hindraf is illegal. With their Utusan they are now fanning more racial hatred reports to incite racial tension among the various races.
All these are done not to bring back economy stability, a better Malaysia or aiming to be a developed country but to remain in power.
But my fellow Malaysians, do not feel intimidated by all these unlawful acts but to stay calm, don't react or take to the streets which they want us to do.
I reproduce a section of comments from People's Parliament.
Jaya :
Banning Hindraf is a “smoke screen” to divert the nation’s attention from the ‘private sms’ and ‘public Eurocopter’!!
Only hope Hindraf’s does not fall into the ‘trap’ by responding as they ‘expect’ the reaction to be!
Need for a rational but strategic response is paramount.
Chee Seng :
Dear friends, it’s been 7 months since the election and the BN/UMNO has not shown any inclination to change or reform. In fact, we see their position hardening against dissenters. Now that the unholy trinity is finally in charge, the game will be up very soon.
We need regime change in this country if we ever hope to see real reforms. And we need it more desperately than ever with the global recession bearing down on us. (One can only assume that the PM-to-be refuses to table a new budget because when recession hits this country, we’ll be too busy worrying about our rice bowl than regime change.)
Let’s not be distracted from that goal.
How can we play our part in all this?
Do not be drawn into their evil trap! Do not get angry by their actions/words – that’s exactly what they want! Do not flame websites or blogs with our reactions to their shenanigans. Do not counter their comments.
Let’s stay focused! Our leaders in Parliament and in civic society need all our support!
We must not fall into their trap. They are in power now and they will and can inflict very heavy blows if we were to react. Stay calm for now and wait for the change of government or any further instructions that flow down from the PR leadership.

Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar What Are You Going To Do With Utusan???
Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar What Are You Going To Do With Utusan???
Malaysiakini has this report,
Gov't declares Hindraf an illegal organisation
The government today declared the Hindu Rights Actions Force (Hindraf) an illegal organisation with immediate effect.
Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar said the decision was made after the ministry was satisfied with facts and evidence that showed "Hindraf had and was being used for unlawful purposes and posed a threat to public order and morality".
More details at Malaysiakini here.
Hindraf is a threat to "public order" in the eyes of Syed Hamid Albar
In the eyes of the public UTUSAN is more DANGEROUS then Hindraf
So can we call upon the good Syed Hamid Albar to close down Utusan???

There Are Still Some Good People In Gerakan
In any party there are bound to have good and the not so good members and we usually see that the good people are seldom at the top hierarchy especially the component parties of Barisan National.
Not being a member of any political party but always supportive of the oppositions, I see there is no way the component parties of BN can really change from what it is, even though they are shouting out now against umno style of governing. We know it is all hot air, talk only but when comes to action all will be quiet like a mouse.
Malaysiakini has this report;
Gerakan seeks to be a louder conscience for BN
Gerakan has often been called the ‘conscience of Barisan Nasional’ and as its 21st national delegates conference draws to a close, the party appears to be finding its own conscience.
Several delegates told Malaysiakini that during the closed door debates had been a weekend of introspection as the party wades through uncharted waters. We must be the 'bad son', an opposition within the BN itself.
As per the report, they look very courages, wanting to act and change even if they are seen as an opposition within BN. We will be able to see very soon whether they will walk the talk in this last session of Parliament sitting.
Any way, today I am talking about some good people within Gerakan, particularly one that had caught my attention after reading his blog.
He is Dr Hsu Dar Ren and he titles his blog Dr. Hsu's Forum.
In his own words,
I am an ordinary person living an ordinary life. I work as a medical doctor, running a family clinic although i am trained in occupational medicine and safety.
I believe in the good of the world. That good value always triumphs over bad, that good guys always win against the bad, that truth will always prevail over lies, that the world can be a bright, good place to live in for all of us.
I believe that all men are born equal and whatever injustice, whatever unfairness should be done away.
You can read his full biodata here.
He was elected into the Central Committee in the just concluded Gerakan 21st national delegates conference.
His first article after being elected is titled "Release RPK and Hindraf 5 immediately !"
Abstract from his posting.
I ask the government to IMMEDIATELY release RPK and the Hindraf 5, and take steps to repeal the ISA in the immediate future....
I am even against the suggestion that ISA be reviewed so that they can be used to target the terrorists only. There is no need to review, just repeal it in toto. If needed be, we can enact a common law to make terrorism a crime but any terrorist arrested must be given chance to go through a proper trial like any other criminals– no more detention WITHOUT trial. Even suspected terrorists are human, and cannot be subjected to inhuman treatment and subjected to mental torture.
Read his full article here.
After reading all his articles, you can feel that he is the type of leader that we need. Sincere, honest and a responsible person. He is a lone voice so far, as I commented in his posting and his reply is
Richard Loh, one man indeed cannot make much difference, so all of us need to voice out in whatever forum we attend, and tell our friends, and spread the words.
By doing so, we can influence more and more people and create a people’s movements to repeal whatever that is not good for the people.
He is bold to speak up within the party and are ready to face any consequences. In his many articles he is critical of the party and recommended several solutions to transform the party. As I mentioned above, top leaders are usually the not so good type and whether they will listen to their grassroots to revive their party or for their own personal gain, we will have to wait and see.
In my personal opinion, Gerakan must have more top leaders such as Dr. Hsu to lead the party and turn it from the present demise state to become a party love by the people. I for one would consider supporting Gerakan if they can really change not only for the party but change of guards as well.

Defend Freedom Of Press By All Means But Not.......
Defend Freedom Of Press By All Means But Not when it is a one sided and unconfirmed facts or false reporting that can incite racial sentiments, hatred and tensions just to please one's master for political gains.
It is a surprise to read from Malaysiakini Top Blogs "In defence of Utusan Malaysia from famous blogger Rocky's Bru.
I want readers and other bloggers to judge for themselves whether this blogger is way out of his judgement to defend the freedom of the press or is he trying to help further the agenda of utusan to please their master.
This is what Malaysiakini top blog's "rockybru" posted on his blog.
Tabung Azan for Utusan Malaysia. We live in interesting times, where those who complain about the mainstream media being muzzled by the authorities are also the ones who sue these media at the slightest provocation.
DAP's Teresa Kok has filed a RM30 million suit against Utusan Malaysia, the Bahasa Malaysia daily controlled by Umno, over the azan issue. Another DAP leader has also sued the same newspaper for RM10 million, despite the newspaper having published an apology for a mistake it did in a report affecting the politician.
One can argue that ordinary people and organisations sue newspapers all the time. But Ms Kok is not an ordinary person and the DAP is not an ordinary body. As a people's representative, we expect Ms Kok to fight for our basic freedoms, including assuring Malaysians of the all-important Press Freedom.
If Ms Kok and the DAP really believe in the freedom of, say, the Rocket and Malaysia Today, they must also believe in the freedom of Utusan Malaysia.
When I was editor of Business Times and The Malay Mail, I lost many nights' sleep over legal suits filed by disgruntled individuals and organisations. Many politicians were unhappy but none sued because we provided them with the right of reply. And we published without malice. The newspapers I led never sued anyone, either.
I hope politicians will not make it a habit to sue the media, old and new. I hope Theresa would find it fit to withdraw her suit against Utusan Malaysia.
I must applaud Syed Ali Alhabshee's initiative over the weekend to come to the defence of Utusan Malaysia. Some will see it as a political gimmick, but I see the Umno Cheras' inititiave for its simple message: if we believe in a freedom, we must defend that freedom at all times.

Parliament Sitting Tomorrow - Politicians Please Do The Right Thing
Tomorrow Parliament sitting is not about Anwar but the country. The country is in such a mess that only you, The Parliamentarians, can do to rectify the situation. Important points to raise or actions that needs to be taken to salvage whatever is left of our country.
1) The budget needs to be rectified by the new finance minister before putting them for debate. The budget presented by the former finance minister may be obsolete with the fast changing world economy.
2) To introduce a new law in Parliament to allow elected Parliamentarians to screen and question the Prime Minister or PM-in-waiting of its capability to run the country, i.e his integrity, honesty, incorruptible, non-racist, fairness to all Malaysians and has no hands in any crime committed, past or present.
At this point, we have a PM-in-waiting who by the general public perception are full of dirt and an arrogant racist. Malaysiakini and major popular blogs have reported on his abuse of power with regard to the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder case.
Malaysiakini has this report:
Altantuya-Najib allegations resurface
Altantuya Shariibuu, the controversially murdered Mongolian national, and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak are back again in the spotlight.
Making waves in cyberspace is an article entitled ‘Abuse of power by the deputy prime minister’ appearing in ISA detainee Raja Petra Kamaruddin’s Malaysia Today website.
Read the full account of the SMS-Chat Between Najib and Shafee at Malaysia-Today.
3) Repeal the ISA and free all the ISA detainees or charge them in court.
The country does not need the ISA anymore. ISA is nothing but a FEAR weapon used by those who cannot accept the truth and reality in order to remain in power.
So, Parliamentarians, especially those from the BN, show us that you care about the rakyat and the country. Prove to us that you are elected to carry out your duty as representatives of the people and the country and not for monetary gain or power.

Rain Or Shine We Are There
Heavy rain started to pour as early as 6:30pm and I was driving downtown to make some night banking. I planned to be early at the candle light vigil but was so disappointed by the heavy downpour. After finishing my tasks at various banks I drove around Dewan Sri Pinang where the candle light vigil is to be held. The time was still early when I reach there, 8:00pm and the heavy rain continue to pour. I was thinking that the vigil may be canceled and I might as well go home.
As I drove a second time round I saw a car park and park my car to wait for a while, hoping the rain will ease off soon. I sat inside the car and saw a few cars parking further down and nobody came out of the car. I guess these people were also coming for the candle light vigil, waiting for the rain to stop.
By 8:30pm the heavy rain turns to heavy drizzle and I get out of my car with an umbrella. I walk towards the location but nobody was around but when I turn my back I saw a few people following behind me. Within fifteen minutes the crowd grew to about fifty people.
When the candle light vigil started at around 9:10pm the crowd had grown to over 100. There were a group of about 30 Indians from Hindraf who came to lend their support.
Tonight speakers include Aliran President P Ramakrishnan and MP for Bukit Mertajam YB Chong Eng. Three brave audiences also stood up to give their shot at the draconian ISA with one lady dedicating a song to RPK and all the ISA detainees.
The crowd grew to nearly 200 people as the vigil was at mid stage. We want to let RPK and all the detainees know that they are not forgotten, we are there rain or shine.
Before closing I wish to inform all that next Friday candle light vigil at Dewan Sri Pinang will be the last for now. MP Chong Eng had thrown a challenge to the organiser to make it a big one next Friday. The organiser requested us to help them by calling and bringing our friends and relatives to make it a five thousand people candle light vigil.
Lets do it together and send a strong message to the government that we do not need the ISA.
The 5,000 people candle light vigil in Penang, please attend and bring your friends and relatives to show support for this cause. It's peaceful and always have been.

Calling BN Component Parties To Make The Right Decision Now
I agree with outgoing Gerakan Youth chief Mah Siew Keong statement as reported by Malaysiakini:
Special meeting proposed to discuss Gerakan's status in BN
Outgoing Gerakan Youth chief Mah Siew Keong has urged the party leadership to hold a special meeting to discuss the party’s future in Barisan Nasional.
'Grassroots want out of BN'
Prejudice, extremism and communalism rejected.
Malaysikini reports here.
UMNO can never change their prejudice, extremism and communalism if BN component parties still remain and allow UMNO to rule this country.
Look at the way the "yet to be PM" arrogant advise to the rakyat. This letter to Malaysiakini says it all.
Sree Sudheesh:
Najib Abdul Razak has urged Malaysians to respect leaders ‘...as rude behaviour targeted at those in power could lead to economic losses and national instability'.
This is an obvious reference to some Hindraf supporters' decision not to greet the PM, his deputy and his cabinet ministers during the Hari Raya Open House at PWTC. Maybe Najib is already looking forward to his time as the most powerful man in Malaysia and envisaging adoring, doting followers kissing his hand as he walks by imperiously, as if often the case in our country.
It is appalling that a public figure like Najib should ask the people of Malaysia to ‘respect' politicians, when they are the ones who are the servants of the people. Their duty is to serve the rakyat, to take care of the people's concerns and to ensure this country develops and fulfils its inherent potential.
And yet we have people like Najib who seem to forget that the only reason they are in those chairs today is because of us. Malaysians respect and honour the royalty, our Agong and the Malay Rulers.
We do not have to bend over and kiss the feet of corrupt politicians who are often implicated in scandals, corruption and even murder cases.
The signs from Najib, who is on the brink of becoming the country's next PM, are ominous. Here is a person who is more concerned about the people being subservient to him than in honestly and sincerely serving the people, the rakyat.
Dear PM-to-be, please change your attitude now or you will face even more opposition from the rakyat than your predecessor ever dreamed of.
Please be a servant of the people, worthy of the honour of the chair of PM - the highest servant in Malaysia.
Should UMNO still remain in power and rule this country with the help of the component parties, Malaysia is sure to slide further into oblivion. The "yet to be PM" had already display his arrogant way with no heart at all to serve the rakyat but propel himself to greater power.
Just to remind all BN component parties, the "yet to be PM" has yet to apologise for his racist slur in 1987 where he vowed to bathe the kris with Chinese blood.
There is no way the country can prosper and make advancement with such a racist leader and may have more skeletons in his baggage.
As per the "yet to be PM" urging the rakyat to respect the leaders, we will respect you all if you all were to leave BN now.
Special meeting proposed to discuss Gerakan's status in BN

Jumping From The Frying Pan Into The Fire
Are we jumping from the frying pan into the fire?
Many were calling and even some within umno were pushing for the PM to step down and they got what they want today as reported by Malaysiakini.
PM not contesting, to quit in March
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has decided not to defend his Umno president post and will quit in March next year when the ruling party meets at its annual general assembly.Abdullah told leaders of the 13 BN component parties at a meeting in PWTC this afternoon that he would be stepping down as prime minister in five months time. More update at Malaysiakini.
If there is no contest for umno president post, Najib will become the sixth prime minister of Malaysia by March 2009.
What is in store for Malaysians and the country with Najib as its prime minister.?
My earlier posting Is Najib Qualified To Be The Prime Minister Of Malaysia questioned whether he is the right candidate for the prime minister post.
So far there is no one from the oppositions or parties within the barisan national questioning the integrity and capability of Najib being the next prime minister of Malaysia.
From news report, what we know is, he is a racist and would call for the kris to be stained with Chinese blood, his controversy with the murder of a Mongolian lady, corruptions within his previously held defend minister post and many other skeletons he might carry.
Are we safe from this kind of character to be the prime minister and suppose to be the most powerful person in this country to govern us?
Are any reporters or journalists going to ask Najib point blank questions whether he is the right person to be the prime minister with all the baggages he is carrying with him.
I do not think so and are we just going to jump from the frying pan into the fire? You tell me.

Kudos To "The Penang Police Chief"
Good news for Penangnites. Malaysiakini has this report:
Effective and decisive police work constitutes reaching out to the people, understanding their problems and needs, and executing lasting solutions to criminal activities. The Penang police chief sees the value of improved cooperation between the police and the public, to achieve better security and safety in the state. Respond swiftly to calls for protection and ways to forge close working ties.
A very good move by the Penang Police Chief and we Penang lang hope that you walk the talk. We had heard many such promises from your counterparts at federal level and yet to see any improvement. We hope that your "Respond swiftly to calls for protection" is not the way that you did to journalist Tan Hoon Cheng, and that is to lock up under the ISA.
The very first thing is to see that your officers are friendly whenever anyone make a police report. Many have very difficult time when they make a police report, be it, an accident report, robbery report or just any report that needs the help of the police.
We hope to see more friendly police faces this coming Friday candle lights vigil at Dewan Sri Pinang.
Penangnites, please support this coming Friday, 9pm at Dewan Sri Pinang to observe the candle light vigils for RPK and all the ISA detainees. Fear not, as this is a peaceful vigil and the police chief had voice out that the police force are going to improve cooperation between the police and the public.
Another candle light vigil will be held in Penang, please attend and bring your friends and relatives to show support for this cause. It's peaceful and always have been.

Is Abolishing Of The ISA Call Weakening And Fading Away?

All news are now focus on the PM trauma and Umno members infighting for positions in their coming party election.
We must not be distracted and must continue to rally the call for all ISA detainees to be released and the repeal of the ISA Act.
We cannot just allow a few brave ones to carry out all the works and us just sitting at home comfortably and shouting in blogs that we are this and that with them in spirit.
There are calls from various blogs including this blog asking people to show up at the PJ sessions court to lend support for RPK. Malaysiakini has this report:
Raja Petra in PJ to face sedition charge
Internal Security Act detainee Raja Petra Kamarudin was bought to the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court this morning to face a sedition trial. He was brought in at about 8.30am, while outside the court, a handful of supporters were there to lend support.
"JUST A HANDFUL OF SUPPORTERS" reported by Malaysiakini while other online news reported as around three dozens people there.
Many have excuses for not being there, which is quite understandable, just like me, I am from Penang and could not be there. Although I am from Penang I had attended most ISA related calls within my region.
The Umno /Bn government is not listening to our call for the abolishing of the ISA and to release all the ISA retainees.
We must not relent but stay strong and continue to fight against this draconian ISA. Go and attend any ISA rallies or candle light vigil around your areas. Be there physically to tell the Umno /BN government that enough is enough.
Another candle light vigil will be held in Penang, please attend and bring your friends and relatives to show support for this cause. It's peaceful and always have been.

Sedition Trial Starts Monday, 6th October, 2008 For Raja Petra
Update: For direction to PJ Sessions Court please click here.
RPK will be brought to the Sessions Court, Petaling Jaya on 6th October for the commencement of his sedition trial.
Proceedings are scheduled to start at 9am, which means RPK can be expected to be brought in earlier.
Come with your family and friends to the court house in full force and reassure RPK and Marina that they’re not facing this ordeal alone. Lawyer Haris of People's Parliament announced on his Blog.
Malaysians, show RPK that you care. Lend your support to lift PRK's moral by gathering all your friends and supporters at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court.
In Haris 's words:
Would be nice if he is greeted by a huge gathering of friends and supporters when he is brought into the court precinct.
That’s the least we can do for this man.

The Visit To Kamunting Detention Camp
Haris of People's Parliament, Bernard of Zorro and the Hindraf group went to the PM Hari Raya Open house yesterday to openly ask the PM to set all the ISA detainees free. Malaysiakini also reported about it here. Many are doing their parts to pressure the government to release all the ISA detainees as well as to repeal the ISA Act.
I could not join them yesterday but I joined the team from Penang this morning for the trip to Kamunting to convey Raya greetings to the ISA detainees.
First I would like to thanks the owner of car P##1028 (forget to ask for her name)who gave me a free ride too and fro. I also requested a favor from Irene and Steve to send me photos of the trip which I will upload once I receive them.
Our journey started off from E-Gate at around 9:30am with a convoy of about 12 cars. A little surprise for us, the organizer did not provide any further information's or instructions so we just marked one of the car's and followed till we reached the toll exit to Taiping.
We stopped at the toll plaza which was suppose to be the meeting point and saw other cars coming in from KL and else where. There were some who came in their super bikes and vans. At this point, I estimated there were about 150 of us. We then proceeded to the Kamunting Detention camp. Due to a few traffic lights, some got lost along the way but they did found their way to the camp albeit a little late.
When we arrived, there were already another group outside the gate. Traffic police were guiding the flow of traffic in front of the camp and we can only see a few police on duty.
Reporters were there busy snapping photographs and a large crowd surrounded Marina Lee. Many bring along flowers, raya cards and gifts and presented them to Marina Lee. For the whole hour Marina was busy having her photograph taken together with the visitors. I managed to get a shot as well and asked her to stay strong. Marina Lee did mentioned that she will be at the camp every Saturday and should anyone wants her to drop by at Penang she is willing to accommodate them. She jokingly stressed that after so many press interviews and talks , she will soon be able to give ceramah speeches as well.
The group of about 300 then sang "We Are The World" and "Selamat Hari Raya", followed by shouts of "FREE RPK", "FREE HINDRAF 5" and "MANSURKAN ISA".
The police were very polite and mingled with the crowds, while the traffic police were busy directing traffic. Kudos and thank's to them for not interrupting the gathering till the end.

Why There Is No Hari Raya Wish On My Blog
Everyone is having a great time celebrating the Hari Raya Holidays. Even online news media Malaysiakini is also taking a short break to celebrate and visit their Muslim friends and colleagues. Malaysiakini staffs really need this short break after all the shocking news they had been providing us.
I am sure the PM, DPM and all the ministers are having a great and enjoyable time with no feeling at all for the ISA detainees incarnated by them.
For me, I am not celebrating or enjoy the holidays. I am home alone, just have thoughts for RPK, the Hindraf 5 and all the ISA detainees. I join them in their time of sadness and prepare just vegetable porridge for lunch and dinner today.
I pray for their early release and that we stand together to fight against the ISA for it to be repealed in total.
Tomorrow, I will join the team from Penang to visit RPK, the Hindraf 5 and all the ISA detainees at Kamunting. We want to show and tell them that they are not forgotten.
If you wish to join us, the details are as follows:
Details of travel:
