Police chief and the attorney-general will be excluded from an investigation against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim who has been accused of sodomy, the prime minister said. Read Malaysiakini report here.

So what is the big deal PM, may I ask? Who then are you going to appoint as the new investigation team.?

The public perception is that certain high power personnel within the government are pressing this sodomy case to stick what comes may. Anwar must go to jail no matter what.

To exclude the AG and police chief from investigation in this sodomy case does not mean that it will be fair and transparent. Whoever are appointed to take over are still under your control. Even if they are men of integrity they will still have to take your order as there are fear of reprisal.

There is no way now to convince the public that any action taken will be fair and transparent.
