Are You Tired? Please Say NO, We Still Have To Fight On

Malaysiakini had being reporting about these news and many are still not aware about the consequences that we are facing for MalaysiaKini.
I know many are getting tired, but we must not let up. Raja Petra is a free man now after being unreasonably detained under the draconian ISA and yet his first call upon release is to continue the fight to get the ISA repeal and the release of all the ISA detainees or charge them in court of law. We have so much still to do to clean up this arrogant and corrupt ruling government. We must remember the other 65 ISA detainees still inside Kamunting, being held without any charges against them.

The candle light vigils will continue even though RPK had been released. Please get your strength back and attend any of the candle light vigils listed here.

This Sunday 9th Nov vigil at PJ will be jointly held together with BERSIH.

The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH) is organizing a candlelight vigil this Sunday (9 November) in Petaling Jaya with a midnight countdown to usher in 10 November, the first anniversary of the 50,000-strong BERSIH rally last year.

We have other issues to worry about as well. The government is trying to push through the DNA Identification Bill 2008 which has drawn vocal criticism, including concerns that it does not contain adequate legal safeguards, would place excessive powers in the hands of the police and the relevant Minister, generally assumes that DNA profiling is a precise and infallible science, and has not undergone a process of consultation with relevant stakeholders. More details here.

We must ensure that this Bill, if pass, will not place excessive powers in the hands of the police and the relevant Minister just like the ISA Act. Please attend this forum to understand this Bill and voice your concern. We need to help and support the MPs and Bar Council in order for them to help us.
