Penang Anti ISA Vigil - The BIG One

THE BIG ONE

The flame must not be diminished, the fight must continue until all the ISA detainees are release and the EVIL ISA Act repeal.

Fellow Malaysians, we are not living in the early centuries anymore but the 21st century. We cannot allow the indiscriminate use of the ISA in the name of security. What security may I ask? Is RPK, journalist Tan Hoon Cheng, MP Teresa Kok and activist Cheng Lee Whee a real threat to the country's security?

They are using this ISA to serve their own purposes, simply detaining anyone who are vocal to voice out the truth. Simply put, they do not like the truth to be make known, hence the ISA detention.

I may be next, you may also and so are your family members and friends. They need to say only one thing to detain you, "security" and you and I will had it.

We must join forces and show the great magic of "People's Power". We are not going to riot on the street but just to light a candle. We are acting in a peaceful way. If you love your country and feel that the draconian ISA is being abused for unjustified purposes then join us to light a candle to tell the authority that this ISA must go.

Light A Candle To Say
NO TO ISA

Venue: The Esplanade Penang
Date: 15th November 2008
Time: 8:00pm

Please spread this message and bring along your family members and friends.

The government control medias will not highlight all these vigil but can we count on Malaysiakini to help us. I don't think Malaysiakini will either. Lately Malaysiakini has not being reporting much about the vigils, RPK or the ISA detainees. I wonder why?

Why isn't Malaysiakini commenting on these candle vigils? That's easy. Malaysiakini is a commercial e-newsmedia, and anything that is commercial, well, you know lah!

Are the organizers aware that this vigil clashes with the tennis stuff at the Esplanade?

I'm thinking the venue might deter a good turnout because of traffic/parking congestion and the area might actually be cordoned off, not to mention the polis presence.

The boys-in-blue could use this as an excuse to still-born the whole event which would defeat the purpose of attracting a large turnout.

Perhaps you could let the organizers know or provide me a channel to the organizers.

Don't get me wrong, I want this vigil to succeed as well.
