Permatang Pauh Gave BirthTo A Son

The Permatang Pauh by election saw two deaths and a new son being born.

The first death was a very happy occasion for all Malaysians. That is the death of a loud mouth Rembau little boy who claim to have come to Permatang Pauh to bury Anwar but instead he himself together with umno were buried by the people of Permatang Pauh.

The second death, is a murder crime committed by some unhappy loser of the Permatang Pauh by election.

The Star says all 21 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the country have been ordered by the MCMC to block Malaysia Today.

Raja Petra now claim that Malaysia Today is dead and he no longer owns Malaysia Today and express this in his blog,

So, kita menang. The Malays did not swing back to Umno and Barisan Nasional. The 8 March 2008 Tsunami has not fizzled out. They now need to block Malaysia Today because they acknowledge that the internet has done a lot of damage to Umno and Barisan Nasional. Umno and Barisan Nasional have admitted they have lost the internet war and the only way they can stop Malaysia Today is to block it.

From the demise of Malaysia Today A Son is born to take over.

Raja Petra Kamarudin no longer owns Malaysia Today. Raja Petra may have started the original Malaysia Today. But he does not own it any more. Malaysia Today has been replaced by the son of Malaysia Today. And the son of Malaysia Today is owned by the people of Malaysia. The people of Malaysia are keeping the son of Malaysia Today going. It is now called MT Harapan Malaysia and you can access it at mt.harapanmalaysia.com.

Spread this message far and wide. Tell all your friends and family that Malaysia Today has died. It died at 6.00pm on 26 August 2008, the time and day that Anwar Ibrahim won the Permatang Pauh by-election with historic results and which has now triggered his march to Putrajaya. But also tell your friends and family that the son of Malaysia Today has taken over the fight of its father. And this son is called mt.harapanmalaysia.com. Also tell them that the fight is going to get fiercer. The son wants to avenge the death of its father. And don’t forget to also gloat to your friends and family: yeh, yeh, kita menang!

A Big Funeral Happening At Permatang Pauh

Do not talk big when you are so small. Trying to bury Anwar in Permatang Pauh get yourself buried. The moment of happiness is not PKR winning the by election but the demise and burial of a little boy together with umno.

Pictures courtesy Haris of Peoples's Parliament.

Permatang Pauh Who Buried Who

Final Tally - Anwar won with a majority of 15,671 votes.
Votes for Anwar 31,195

Votes for Arif 15,524

Unofficial results but Officially Anwar is the winner

Votes for Anwar 26,646 votes.

Votes for Arif Shah 10,436

Majority 16,210

8:25pm

Latest count

Votes in favour of Anwar - 31,949

Votes for Arif - 14,297

Anwar is leading in all boxes that are counted so far.

Win is for sure and with at least a 10,000 majority.

It is learn that there are over 15,000 PKR supporter at the counting center.

Who is the one that claim he is here to bury Anwar? Will that fellow please stand up and be rewarded.

Permatang Pauh Anwar The Winner ?

All indications from the ground, exit poll and the voters themselves are indicating that Anwar is the winner. But no one would like to declare openly for now. There is still another 20 minutes or so before the polling stations are closed.

Percentage turnout are not that good and unexpectedly low. Whatever the percentage turnout may be, Anwar is comfortable with a win of around 60 %. Base on assumption calculation Anwar should have the majority of between 10,000 to 13,000.

The win is certain and PKR must restrain themselves and their supporters not to hold mass celebration. Just wait for a few days to let things cool down before having a formal celebration.

Permatang Pauh Last Ceramah And We Wait!

I just got back from the ceramah held at Jalan Bahru and also the last for this Permatang Pauh by election.

Many famous blogs have already make some comments on this ceramah and I will just provide some details of what I saw and my conversations with some of the voters.

Al-Azeera camera crew was there and I spoke to one of them who in turn try to play dumb by asking me about this by election. I gave him straight to the point that many people are really frustrated with the present government and they can still stay in power is because they are not practicing true democracy.

The crowd start to grow at around 8:15pm and streams of cars and motorcycles keep coming in. The main road was jam right up to the north south highway. People just keep pouring in and slowly the open space was packed and many have to move to the adjacent field which was supposed to act as the car park area.

The usual intimidation by the helicopter occurs when CM Lim Guan Eng was speaking. The heavy drizzle did not stop more people from coming in. My estimation for the crowd tonight is around 12 to 15 thousands.

I managed to speak to a few people and get their opinion of what would be the result tomorrow. All agree that Anwar will win but with a reduce majority obtained by Kak Wan. They said that umno machineries have somehow mananged to change some voter minds into believing the sodomy case and Saiful swearing. Most of them are from the rural areas and not that educated.

I talk to a local malay and ask him the one question that is on my mind for a long time and dare not ask. I ask him "do you malay really hate the chinese". I told him that not all chinese are rich and we do not really mind if the government helps the malay. We chinese stand on our own and work hard to be what we are today. He answer back, "no we do not hate the chinese, it is umno's fault. umno is the one to blame for all this race division and hate among each other." I rest my case!

Voters of Permatang Pauh, tomorrow the future of the country is in your hands. So vote wisely and ensure that Anwar's is return with a greater majority.

Permatang Pauh Heating Up

Yesterday I was at the Penanti Ceramah to witness the real heat on the ground and the people were not perturb with the heavy drizzle. More details on the Penanti ceramah is better phrase out by Susan Loone who was also there to witness the ceramah. Read more detail here.

Three famous bloggers are also in town and had been going around town to help out in this "mother of all election". They cover all areas and posted details of it in their blogs. They are updating the event through their blogs as they move around.

Get further updates from Haris blog The People's Parliament. Bernard Khoo has his own updates at his blog Zorro Unmasked and of cause the king blogger Raja Petra site Malaysia Today.

I like to introduce another blogger who has been commenting on my blog and appealing to the voters of Permatang Pauh to do the right thing. Please visit his blog Magickriver to find out how each different bloggers pen their thoughts and news.

I hope to enter Permatang Pauh again on Monday, the last day for the by election campaigning. Please stay tune for more updates as the event unfold.

Permatang Pauh - Here I come Penanti

After reading the daily news from bloggers and online media on the Permatang Pauh by election campaign I feel that I need to go on the ground to see it for myself.

So today ( actually it's 2am on Sunday now while I blog on this ) a Saturday and also my daughter's birthday, I started my journey to Penanti to see what is happening on the ground. I told my daughter to go out with her friends and celebrate her birthday for I am not going to cook today.

I started from Penang Island at 6 pm and cross the Penang bridge and saw the widening of the bridge was in progress. No jam on the side heading towards the mainland but there was a long Que on the other side heading to the Island.

I am not sure where Penanti is exactly but I head towards Permatang Pauh which I presume will leads me to Penanti. There are signs to all various towns but I could not find the sign to Penanti. But no worry, there are so many PKR stalls everywhere and I make no less then 8 times asking for the direction to Penanti.

As I zig zag my way to Penanti I can see PKR stalls at almost every KM and on both sides of the road. The road were jam for a few km on both sides and I do not know why. At every PKR stalls you can see 4 or 5 people distributing leaflets and PKR newsletters to the slowed down vehicles. I pick up quite a few along the way.

I still could not find the location of the ceramah and it was almost 7:30pm. So I decided to stop at one of the malay stall to have my dinner. After dinner and about 8pm I continue my search for the exact location of the ceramah. Finally after 3 more stops at the PKR stalls I manage to reach the location and by then it was 9pm.

The location of the ceramah is at Padang Awam ,Taman Guar Perahu, Penanti. The open field was quite big and tonight is the pasar malam night with stalls running along side the open field. I was shock to see only about 100 or so people hanging around and it is already pass 9pm.

I read from din merican blog that Raja Petra and others will be there but I could not find them. I ask one of the PKR member and he was not so sure whether they will be there. I then check with him what will be the result and he quite frankly told me, "The Chinese and the Indians votes are more or less secured but a little worried about the malay votes." Seeing the turnout at that time convince me that the malay votes may still be undecided.

I wonder around and buy some tidbits from the stall to pass time and chat with a few malays. For them they are sure Anwar will win but they cannot ascertain the majority. A few came from other areas to support the ceramah.

The crowd slowly start to grow and I estimated about a thousand when the ceramah begins. The first two speakers were from PAS, Ustaz Dr. Haron Din and YB Tuan Guru Abd Hadi Awang. By 10:30pm the crowd had swell to around 4 thousand and people are still flowing in from all directions. The final estimate just before I left at 11:50pm is 8 thousand people.

As usual the helicopter hover around the open field for three rounds before fading away at 11:00pm. Anwar arrive at about 11:30pm.

A brief on the ceramah talk. Although 98 % of the 8 thousands turnout are malays, the speakers never fail to mention about the Chinese and the Indians and DAP. The main points are about Anwar's sodomy charges, the swearing by Saiful and Najib. PKR naik president even stress further on CM Lim Guan Eng going to prison because of trying to help a malay rape victim.

As usual Anwar is the man of the hour and he gives his usual hard hitting points against the corrupted umno.

I leave 10 minutes early to avoid the expected traffic jam upon the ceramah conclusion. I drive round the housing estate and pass by another ceramah but by BN. It was held inside a house compound and I can see there were not more then 20 people.

As I drove home you could not believe what I saw. Many PKR stalls were still open at busy point of the road and these young men and women were still standing there distributing the leaflets and newsletter. By the time I passes by them it was already pass midnight. They were very energetic and I only hope that the voters of Permatang Pauh must not fail them and should Anwar wins he must show some appreciation to them.

Tomorrow night or rather tonight another big ceramah will be held at Bandar Perda. I understand Nik Aziz will be there plus our Chief Minister YB Lim Guan Eng. So if you can make it, try to go and lend your support.

Permatang Pauh The Reason For Petrol Price Cut?

Good News Or Umno Desperation

Goverment slashes petrol price by 15 sen

The government announces that price of RON97 petrol will go down by 15 sen from RM2.70 to RM2.55 per litre at the pumps beginning midnight.

And this is the news on the 14th August 2008

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today reiterated the government will not reduce petrol prices before Sept 1 in the wake of falling global prices.

I had expected the petrol price to be reduced just a few days before the Permatang Pauh polling day. Many I presume also expected this to happen.

The question is why must the PM, a leader of a country always like to lie. Permatang Pauh could be the "killing field" to bury umno and the desperation to stay alive has cause umno to do all kinds of desperate things.

Penang Land Scam Debate

While watching the Penang Land Scam debate live over NTV7, I keep wondering what kind of censor is being imposed on the speakers.

The present Chief Minister and the Ex-CM seems to hold back what is in their minds. It is understandable for the Ex-CM but it looks like the present CM cannot speak in total what is in his mind.

Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon prefer to have the debate on TV rather then having direct talks or discussions with the Chief Minister of Penang YB Lim Guan Eng. This is an advantage to him for he knows that the time alloted will be too short for details debate on the many land scams exposed.

He select and debate on the one land scam that is being in court and happened 40 years ago. He play safe, as this case happened when he is not the CM as yet. He avoided answering the other four land scams and keep on stressing on the one that happened 40 years ago.

As for the CM YB Lim Guan Eng he cannot have sufficient time to talk about the other four land scams. He has no choice but to be brief on the land scams and run home with what he will do for the people of Penang and that he will not tolerate any corruptions.

The debate ended with no real answers but one point is that the land scams as mentioned by the CM does happen.

My suggestion is that the CM continue to pursue all the land scams with or without the Ex-CM involvement, get sufficient evidences and take the whole bunch to court. Do not entertain this kind of debate proposal again for it will never answer all the questions.

It is better for the Information Minister to arrange for political debates. The present Permatang Pauh by election can be the first election debate on national TV between the candidates. Why is the information Minister calling for more open debate to solve issues but dare not allow the election debate to be held?

Can we have this Permatang Pauh by election debate between the two candidates, Mr. Information Minister?

He Is Only Good At Attacking The Defenseless

This PM is only good at attacking the defenseless but all the UMNO members who are having a field day doing greater evil things are left alone.

Yes, this PM is calling Blogger "EVIL". From what I read from the dictionary evil is explain as "Having bad qualities of a natural kind, wicked and corrupt." I thought as a PM he should concentrate on how to get the country out of its problem, instead he is too concern on Anwar's sodomy case, bloggers placing the flag upside down and entertaining "illegal" demonstrations by uitm students and so many other small non issues. Its as if he has nothing more important to handle.

The very important thing he should do is to direct the PDRM to wake up and carry out their duties diligently and fairly. They should be on the street to fight crimes and not intimidating political parties and the rakyat.

Go and find Nurin's killer.

From Nuraina A. Samad's Blog

In Memory : Nurin Jazlin Jazimin

Exactly a year ago, eight year-old Nurin Jazlin was abducted near her home in Section One, Wangsa Maju, after visiting a night market with her sister.

Twenty-eight days later, her sexually ravaged body was found in a sports bag outside a shoplot in PJS 1, Petaling Jaya.

Her killer was never found.

The beast is out there. Free to strike again.

For dear Nurin - Al-Fatihah.

(Tomorrow, Nurin's parents, Jazimin Abdul Jalil and Norazian Bistaman, they will be filing a suit at the Kuala Lumpur High court against the police and the government.

They will be seeking damages, a public apology and retraction of the newspaper article linking the family with loan sharks. They are seeking an apology and damages for lack of security which led to the circulation of Nurin's post-mortem photographs.

Only UMNO Can Politicise, Others Be Careful!

What is the PM trying to say.

Malaysiakini reported what the PM said about the DNA Bill:

PM: Don't politicise DNA bill

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today urged all parties not to politicise the DNA Bill 2008 which was tabled in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday. Story here.

Earlier,

Syed Hamid said that Anwar not a factor in tabling DNA bill

Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar today said that the tabling of the DNA Bill at the ongoing Parliament sitting was not politically motivated.

They are claiming that this Act is good for us and the tabling of this bill now is just coincidence. Well, I am not calling upon the PM and Syed Hamid to swear on the Koran to prove that it has nothing to do with Anwar.

Just to let the rakyat believe you for once, "Do Not Back Date The Bill" and specify that this Act will not be applied to Anwar's sodomy charges.

PM: Leave Saiful alone by Malaysiakini.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today urged all parties to leave Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan alone following the latter's swearing upon a Quran on Friday that he was sodomised by Anwar Ibrahim.

Why are you siding with Saiful and make this statement if you are not politicising.

Can you be sincere and not politicise on the Saiful swearing on the Koran which is being video screen around Permatang Puah by your BN campaign? We cannot politicise on matters that can be regarded of concern to Anwar but you all can politicise this sodomy charges. Is that what you call fairness and treating us like fools?

Can you just give us a break and stop treating us like people still living in the dark ages.

Everything OK If You Are With Us!

Najib Tun Razak says that The Opposition Are Rude.

“The opposition did not show any respect to their opponents. Is this the image of the party that wants to rule the country,” he said when visiting the BN Youth Main Operations Room, here Sunday night.

My interpretation to what Najib said, such an act in public is acceptable provided you are not against us, "the great UMNO". You can do almost anything even if it is illegal according to the law of this country, provided again, you must stand by us, the "great UMNO".

Voters of Permatang Pauh, use your thinking cap and make sure you send the right candidate to Parliament.

One Nation One People Semua Anak Bangsa Malaysia

"Anak Melayu, anak kita, anak Cina anak kita, anak India, pun anak kita. Mengapa harus kita bezakan?”

This letter written by Haris of People's Parliament to Anwar Ibrahim is a must read by all Malaysian.

We must do away with racial politics for it has no more place in this border less world. All human are born equal, helps must be dispense to all the needy and not only to one particular race. The call for One Nation One People is growing by the day and the by election at Permatang Pauh should be the trigger point to push ahead.

Dear Anwar,

I write to you as one anak Bangsa Malaysia to another.

My friends and I were pleased to read in the Malaysiakini report of 14th August that you have forgiven your enemies for what they have done to you over the last ten years, but that you will never forget what they have done to you.

It is good that you have found it in your heart to forgive them, for otherwise you will end up bitter and vindictive like a certain ‘past the shelf-life’ politician who just simply refuses to fade away.

No, you don’t want to carry bitterness within you.

And indeed you must never forget, for it is the remembrance of what you have gone through that will serve you well in two ways.

One, to never do to others or allow to be done by others what has been inflicted upon you.

Two, so that you will not allow those who have wronged you the opportunity to do again what they have done to you before.

My sister, I like Chopin, has asked me to tell you that she has forgiven you your 16 years of involvement, at least by association and failure to dissociate, with the autocratic, dictatorial, corrupt Mahathir administration.

Yes, most of my friends and I, like my sister, have long forgiven you for your involvement in the atrocities committed by Mahathir during his reign of destruction and pillage, even if only by association and your failure to dissociate with his regime.

But like you, we, too, have not forgotten.

Just as remembrance will serve you well, so too us.

Will we ever forget?

I cannot speak for the others, but for me, I think that is really up to you.

Before I proceed further, so as to lessen the hurt, if any, of what I am about to say, let me first say that whilst I have the highest regard for YB Lim Kit Siang and YB Lim Guan Eng, yet in the matter of the politics and governance of this nation, I do not trust them implicitly and without question, because they are politicians and 50 years of BN politics has delivered a hard and painful lesson to many of us.

Don’t trust politicians completely.

Many times last year, I wrote in this blog that I wished you would give me a reason to trust you.

Whilst I have to be frank and tell you that I still do not trust you, three things have persuaded me to ‘take a chance’.

First, and this is the only rational factor of the three, this nation needs to be rid of the racist, divide and rule politics of BN. UMNO will not change, and the other component parties have shown themselves to be helplessly subservient to UMNO.

You and your party leaders, together with the leaders of DAP, have been taking policy positions or making policy statements that, by far and large, seem to be in line with the aspirations of the people.

I say ’seem’ because much still remains to be seen.

I had actually wanted to say all the Pakatan leaders but, truly, PAS has been giving us some serious concerns of late.

The second and the third factors are, in truth, ‘gut’ reactions.

Raja Petra wrote a series to remind us of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into your ‘black eye’ beating at the hands of the former IGP.

My eyes teared when I read your testimony about the beating you received and the day after, the condition you were in, and the refusal by the police to afford you treatment.

Yes, I still think you owe the nation an apology for your 16 years in the Mahathir administration.

We, too, as a nation, though, owe you and your family an apology, for all that you and your family have been through these last 10 years.

I am sorry.

Then, on 5th August, I heard you deliver your ceramah in Bentong, Pahang.

I have attended many of your ceramah but, quite frankly, this was the first time that I heard you speak with humility, particularly your appeal to any who might feel inclined to go to Permatang Pauh to help in your election campaign.

What particularly touched me and my family who were present, something that has also got the mention of G. Krishnan in his blog today, was when you said :

‘Anak Melayu, anak kita, anak Cina anak kita, anak India, pun anak kita. Mengapa harus kita bezakan?”

Succinctly, you had articulated that which I have felt for such a long, long time and which, without more, sums up the spirit of anak Bangsa Malaysia that I hope one day will be definitive of us as a people of this nation.

It is this last matter that I have mentioned, irrational as it may seem to many, that has most moved me to ‘take a chance’.

A word of advice.

Don’t make the mistakes of Pak Lah.

You have made us many pledges and promises.

I quote you from the Malaysiakini report mentioned above :

“But how do you run a government and affect changes, move forward - we need a new Malaysian awareness, we need unity of all races, we need a new vibrant economy, we need to reform the judiciary and bring back confidence in a more professional police force - if you get yourself engrossed with the past?…If it (involves) 2,000 acres and two billion ringgit - it’s just not my right to forgive, they have to return the money. But otherwise, we cannot afford to drag the entire country back to the past.”

Keep your promises to us.

Where we can recover the nation’s wealth that has been stolen, we must.

You must not do favours for anyone from the past by interfering with our law enforcement authorities.

Restore what is rightfully due to the rakyat.

On Black 14, I heard you use the phrase ‘Ketuanan Rakyat’ for the first time.

Do not waver from this.

End race politics.

End the politicisation of Islam.

You must be brave enough to tell the Malays that this country belongs to all the anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia, to remind the Malays again and again that UMNO’s ketuanan Melayu is unIslamic and has been their evil tool to enrich themselves and divide this nation.

Do this, and be assured of the strongest support from the majority of anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia who, by far and large, are decent people.

In the run-up to the 12th GE, the rakyat launched an aspirational document called the ‘People’s Declaration’.

All the Pakatan parties, including yours, indorsed this document.

We took your indorsement seriously and for that reason went all out to work to get the votes for the Barisan Rakyat parties at the last general election.

We will hold you to that indorsement.

A final reminder.

The rakyat today are not like that of 16 years ago.

We understand national issues better, we are better informed, and we have a greater sense of commitment to the ideals of justice and equality.

And we have a newly found self-belief to pursue these ideals and to pursue change.

Understand and remember that we are no longer afraid.

We fully understand today that governance of this nation was intended to be in the hands of the people, and that when you and your party leaders offer to govern, it is with a view to serve us.

Therefore, understand and remember that it is we, the rakyat, who govern through those who have taken oath to serve us.

It is only by abiding by that oath that you might honourably be called a leader of men.

Any less and you would have proven yourself to be no better than those whom you now endeavour to displace.

In the run-up to polling day on the 26th, my friends and I will be in Permatang Pauh to help you in any way we can.

By God’s Grace, you will soon be returned to Parliament. May He also continue to bestow you with wisdom and courage to discharge you duties faithfully.

Collection Of Pictures Permatang Pauh By Election

Permatang Pauh by election campaign is underway. Pictures can tell all the stories and I had make a collection for the nomination days.

Pictures courtesy of Din Merican, Zorro, People's Parliament, Kickdefella, and Susan Loone

Pakatan Rakyat supporters overhelming BN by at least 5:1

We hope that this by election will go on smoothly without any incidents, that the EC and the police must stay neutral at all times. Can we expect all these to happen.

Susan Loone had already reported that "PKR has no permits for ceramahs, says police.

Police will be taking action on the parties that do not apply for permits for ceramahs in Permatang Pauh.

SUPT Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latif, who is media relations officer for the Seberang Perai Tengah Police HQ said that out of 8 ceramahs during the P44 campaign period, only 5 were legal, and all of them were BN ceramahs.
". Read Susan report here.

Malaysiakini reported today;

Anwar accuses BN of 'dirty tricks'

He said the government had ordered its supporters to heckle their opposition opponents by yelling "sodomy, sodomy" at political events.

With another 9 days to go, what can we expect. The underdog is not going to remain silent and will try everything in their dirty books to ensure a victory.

I will advise PR supporters to remain claim at all time.

An Upset Win At Permatang Pauh By Election?

Can there be an upset win at the Permatang Pauh by election for umno?

Malaysiakini reported Huge turnout as Anwar launches comeback bid. But huge turnout does not necessary means that the X counted on the ballot box will be huge. And YB Lim Kit Siang has this to say:
Permatang Pauh by-election – Anwar will win hands down if decided by Nomination turnout. IF Only......lah

Nothing is impossible but we have to be realistic sometimes. Up to this moment pundit are putting at least a 10,000 votes majority for Anwar. Things may change, anything can happen between now till election day and that is 9 more days to go.

Umno needs only to reduce the majority to claim an upset win. We take a look back at the 12 GE results:

P44 - Permatang Pauh

12TH General Election Result

Registered Voters - 58449
Turnout - 47934
BN - 16950
PKR - 30348
Spoil Votes - 636
Majority - 13398

PKR won by a majority of 13,398 with an 82% turnout.

This by election will have the same numbers of voters but no one can predict the turnout. The EC had chosen a working day for the by election and the EC need not have to give any reason or explanation. But the public perception is that the EC have to select the day under umno's directive. This is one point advantage to umno as they expect the turnout to be low and the majority will be reduced as well.

Umno today cannot solely depends on the malay votes, they have to seek the non malays especially the chinese which comprise about 27% of the electorate. By nominating Arif who can speak mandarin and hokkien, they hope to sway some chinese voters to reduce, again, the majority. Will the chinese take the bait after giving such a huge mandate to Pakatan Rakyat in the just concluded 12 GE?

The umno control medias will have to serve their master and we can expect slanted daily reports throughout the campaign period. TV7 had started today by giving the umno candidate a live interview in mandarin and we can expect more of this from RTM1, 2 and especially TV3. Will this have any effect on the voters?

We can make a prediction today on the outcome of the by election and we will come back for a final analysis on the eve of election day.

Anwar can claim victory now but by how much the majority is. With the above arguments and a prediction of a lower turnout, the most is about 65% to 70%, the majority will be reduced.

For umno they are happy and consider their lost as a major upset win should the majority be reduced to less then 10,000.

Permatang Pauh - Who will Prevail?

It's a three way fight, reported Malaysiakini.

I had waited until the nomination is over before I blog on this topic as to be sure that Anwar is confirm as a candidate.

P44 - Permatang Pauh by election is set to see the fight between ‘sodomite’ versus brother to a ‘swindler’ the heading by Raja Petra in his blog.

One thing is, Anwar is not convicted as yet, so he cannot be a sodomite and Arif's brother doings has nothing to do with Arif. I hope that both party will fight it out in a clean manner.

But can we expect a clean fight. Almost everyone throughout the blogsphere and some from the public are already crying that umno will used all the dirtiest tricks in their book.

I would like to share two bloggers posting with you.

Is Saiful a liar and conspired with umno to stop Anwar's ambition? Read this abstract from Haris blog.

‘I’ve done this for God and I took my oath in the house of God, that I was humiliated and sodomised by Anwar Ibrahim and I do not wish to lie to the world as he has done’ - statement by Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan after swearing on the Holy Qur’an at the Masjid Wilayah at Jalan Duta yesterday, as reported by Malaysiakini.

Er, Saiful, you did lie to the whole world yesterday.

Saiful was asked by a reporter to explain how the timing was so close to nomination date for the Permatang Pauh by-election.

Saiful replied : It’s all a coincidence. We don’t know that Anwar is going to contest…

Yet, on 2nd August, Malaysiakini reported that in a posting in Saiful’s blog on 1st August, ‘Saiful also briefly wished Anwar ‘good luck’ in contesting for the Permatang Pauh by-election’.

By swearing on the Koran, does it mean that what one's said is the truth and nothing but the truth? The above two separate statements by Saiful indicates that he is lying.

Is there a conspiracy to get Anwar. Nuraina A. Samad has this to say.

It is nomination day today in Permatang Pauh.
And the accuser of Anwar Ibrahim yesterday "bersumpah" on the Quran that the de facto Parti Keadilan Rakyat leader had sodomised him without his consent.

Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan said, no, the timing (eve of nomination day) of his action was not political.

Bollocks, Saiful.
I don't believe this boy. He ought to be smacked, I tell you.

See. Everyone knows it IS a conspiracy to stop Anwar from getting anywhere near Putra Jaya. Anwar cannot be Prime Minister, period!
Read more here.

The nomination is closed and three candidates are fighting it out for this Permatang Pauh Parliament seat. So who will you stand by and support to win this seat.

Barisan Rakyat’s campaign to send Anwar to Parliament.

I support the call by Haris of People's Parliament to send Anwar to Parliament.

Anwar may have done wrong during his time with umno but the way he express himself and all the talks at ceramahs convince many that he is a change person. He may not be a saint but we can bet that he is still the best compared to all the racist umno's circus of clowns.

Haris posting:

Barisan Rakyat.

That’s us.

You and I and every anak Bangsa Malaysia who gives a damn about what happens to this country.

And who’s prepared to do what he or she can to stop the rot and to take back governance of our country.

Yes, our country.

Negara Malaysia untuk setiap anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia.

I’ve been reading so many comments about how so many of you crave for that nation.

You all want that, right?

Well, you know as well as I that no-one is going to present that to us on a silver platter!

We’re going to have to work for that Bangsa Malaysia.

What am I on about?

We know all too well what the MSM is capable of, even though they’d like us to believe that they are now pro-rakyat or pro-truth!

A reader whom I met for the first time that night later said to me that she wished that there was something she could do to help with Anwar’s campaign.

To that reader, if she’s reading this now, and to all the anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia out there, you can help, and really big time, without even getting out of the chair that you’re sitting on now.

By being part of the sms campaign that is being launched through this blog now. The text of the sms appears below.

Media massa arus p’dana akn m’perdayakan rkyt & m’cari helah utk gagalkan Dtk Seri Anwar Ibrm di P/Pauh dgn berita palsu - m’jatuhkan nama Dtk Seri & menanam rasa syak wasangka. Jom boikot! Jgn beli s/kabar & jgn p’caya berita radio/TV. Sebar kpd kwn2 di P/Png & P/Pauh.

Send this sms out to everyone you know, especially those in Penang and Permatang Pauh, and get them to send the same out to those they know. And keep sending the sms out again and again in the run-up to polling day on 26th August.........

What I am also certain of is that if Anwar does get into Parliament on 26th August, as I hope he does and, I think he deserves, and should he let us down, then, as with all the other Pakatan Rakyat elected reps who might fail us, I will work my socks off come next election to, borrowing RPK’s infamous phrase, send them all to hell.

That’s my promise to you.

I have just sent out the first sms to Mentri Besar YB Lim Guan Eng.

Please join me in this effort.

Like a great many things I try to do through this blog, they count for nothing without your participation.

Saya tetap anak Bangsa Malaysia.

Killing Us Softly With Their Acts!

My goodness, there are so many things in my mind and trying to express them is so difficult especially when one is not a writer or journalist. But somehow, my thoughts need to be expressed one way or another and using the blogs is the best way.

You can never miss all the news about the way the ruling government is softly "killing" the country and its rakyat just to remain in power. Just read the news on the "permitted" demonstrations by UITM students throughout the country. Malaysiakini reported today, UiTM students in Permatang Pauh protest. Why are they allow to demonstrate when the law stated that demonstration is illegal and the DPM stressed that it is not our culture to demonstrate. Of course when you demonstrate and it is advantage to umno, you are not wrong but if you demonstrate on anything disadvantage to umno, you will be ISA'ed or the FRU and police will come down hard on you.

Today we read yet another sorry state of the umno/bn control medias news. Teresa Kok express her disappointment and sadness over the way umno/bn control newspaper highlighted her and the Selangor Sate Excos meeting with various business groups.

A few abstracts from Teresa Kok's Blog.

Hillslope policy and The Sun’s mischievous heading

I was quite chissed off yesterday when I read the front page report with the heading of “Hillslope Policy To Be Reversed?” piece published in The Sun dated 14th August 2008.

The news report said that the developers association (Rehda) has lobbied Ronnie Liu and I to reverse the no-hillslope-development policy in Selangor, and the writers said both of us have coaxed the Menteri Besar of Selangor to meet with Rehda people, as the MB was not in favour of meeting with the group.

My God, I did not expect the two journalists whom I have respected very much, namely Nadeswaran and Terence Fernandez can write such a presumptious article based on hearsay, and they can be so adamant in believing their hearsay from others and refused to give me justice.

You can read the complete story here.

I had stop reading the umno/bn control newspapers for over five years and this is one of the reasons that I refuse to read any of them. They can twist the facts, spin and dance to the tune of their master, and that is umno.

Online news portal like, Malaysiakini, Malaysia-Today or Malaysian Insider cover quite a broad perspective of our local news. Whether they are true, spinning or twisted news we can judge from other readers respond immediately through letters or blog comments. Try writing letters which are negative about umno to the newspapers and see whether they are published, chances is that it will never see the light of the day.

Will Raja Petra Goes To Jail For Telling The Truth?

Raja Petra blog, Malaysia-Today is never short of intrigue posting, the plot and the story whether reliable or short of being true are just too interesting to be missed.

Raja Petra or Pete (his icon nick name) are being sued, charged or temporary jailed cannot stop him from producing all the intrigue stories.

Whether they are true or not will have to wait till the end of the day. His string of court cases will take a long time before the verdict to jail him or set him free.

Today he produce another posting, titled You said it, babe! in respond to Shafee latest challenger to RPK’s online stature.

I abstract a few paragraph of his posting which I find the quality of his counter statement very meaningful and logical.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said it very aptly last month when the allegation of sodomy against Anwar Ibrahim first broke. Of course he will deny it, said Abdullah. No one will admit it. That would be the normal reaction of anyone being accused of something.

Okay, that was not exactly the way he put it but he said, more or less, this: it is normal for someone accused of something to deny it and that no one would admit it. And that is exactly my response to Shafee Abdullah as well: would he admit it and would it not be normal for him to deny it?

.................

With regards to the IGP story, I attached Statutory Declarations from half a dozen or so senior police officers plus another two from underworld bosses that confirmed the links between the IGP and the crime syndicate headed by BK Tan. We are talking about Statutory Declarations here, not idle conversation and whispers in the night. If these six police officers and the two underworld bosses lied and signed false Statutory Declarations why were they not charged like I was when I too signed a Statutory Declaration? I have actually seen many other documents as well but I decided not to publish them because I want to protect the source. But at least these documents helped convince me that the IGP is guilty as hell and not a victim of slander.

Smart people these police and AG, are they not? And that is the same reason why they charged me under the Sedition Act. Under the Sedition Act it also does not matter whether you told the truth or you lied. Even if you told the truth you are still guilty -- as what happened to Marina Yusoff when the court ruled that the truth has nothing to do with the matter. Even if you told the truth it is still sedition.

Can you see how they carefully chose the charges so that they need not prove I lied? I also will have no opportunity to prove that I told the truth, as the truth is not material to the charge. The charge is about whether I did say or write all those things and not about whether there is any truth in what I said or wrote.

In short, they can send me to jail for telling the truth as long as they can establish that I did say or write whatever I am being charged for saying or writing. They hope that once I am convicted then the public perception would be I have lied because most people would not comprehend I am being sent to jail for telling the truth.

You can read his full posting here.

There are many aspect to all his claims, but why does he want to go to the extreme and is prepared to go to jail for it? I do not have the answer but just to wait for the final outcome which may take a long time. As most of his readers are standing by him and that the ruling government are using the third estate to protect themselves, it is logical to conclude that he will finally land up in jail before all the whole story can be unveiled.

Malaysia! What Is Your Real Problem?

All countries, just like any individual person or family has its own problems. Can we define "problem" as man make or self create? I would dare to say that "problem" derive from our own doing that are cascaded down from some initial point other than the Act Of God situation.

Malaysia, a developing country has its own problems but the problems that one sees daily can be avoided if one choose to do so. After 51 years of Independence should we not be in the league of the developed country or we prefer to continue fighting among the races and continue with religious issues. As a 54 years old Malaysian, I have being through the whole process of Malaysia developing from a peaceful, harmonious and racial unity to an uncertain, racial and religious conflict that is dividing the country apart.

In the sixties, our command of English and the education system are among the top in Asia and we have the best road infrastructure. Today, we are heading nowhere in our education performance and although the road infrastructure have increase in quantity the quality is in question.

The sixties also see a very unified social mix of all races, in school, civil servants in government departments, private enterprises and almost everywhere. Today, we are harping on quotas, malay unity, ketuanan and pitting against each other, not on the advancement of each individual or country but to create hate and suspicion.

Why are we turning from a unified and prosperous Malaysia to a divided and pauper Malaysia. So, Malaysia ! What Is Your Real Problem?

When servant do not listen to the boss, there is a problem. When one is power crazy, that is a problem. When one is greedy, that is a problem. The problem with Malaysia is all the three put together.

The ruling government do not listen to its rakayt who employ them to run the country. The leaders are power crazy and most of them are greedy, i.e corrupt, with no limit amount that can satisfy them.

The most dangerous problem happening now in Malaysia is power crazy. Like many other countries that sink to the bottom are because of power craziness.

But Malaysia is getting worst, in order to stay in power, racial and religious issues are brought into play. The repercussion is going to be devastating if it is allow to continue. There is no way that common folks like you and me can do to stop all these craziness except for the ruling government to wake up and act decisively. But sad to say, at this moment, the leaders are blinded by self interest rather then the love for the country and the rakyat.

There are so many racial, political and religious issues everyday that you read from Malaysiakini, MalaysiaToday and other online news portal.

A very glaring Malaysiakini headline today,
'The changes will have to come about. If these changes are not addressed soon, people are going to come out onto the streets'.

Malaysia ! What Is Your Real Problem? From no problem you are self creating major problems just to satisfy a selected few egos.

Dr.Chua Soi Lek's Blogsphere

I have been following Dr. Chua Soi Lek blog for sometime and it can be considered a good blog but with a few negative comments. You can view Dr. Chua's blog here.

He posted topics in both English and Chinese and I can only comment my views on those that are written in English as I am Chinese illiterate.

Many have the view that Dr. Chua is a pragmatic person and quite a fighter. Even though the plague of the DVD sex scandal hovering over him, he is not that a simple man to go into oblivion but standing firm his right to have his own private life.

Speaking his mind through the blog indicates that he is still an MCA man but deviate in some of the original party principles. His articles can sometime tell that he wants changes within the party but at the same time holding back a little because the real master is still watching over MCA.

He is more open in his writing on topics like "Cancellation of Bar Council Forum", "Amendment to University and University College Act", "Post 308 Election: MCA Division Election and Its Reform" and many others".

His statement in one of the topics, The likely emergence of 2 party system creates a healthy environment of competition and offers rakyat a choice. Political parties have to be competitive in order to survive indicates he is willing to accept the true political environment.

But on the same tone he wrote, The Barisan Nasional (BN) has become and I believe shall always be a model for progressive power-sharing by which Malaysia will always be governed. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then the Pakatan Rakyat alliance is surely modeled on BN. While Umno, as well as MCA and MIC has its weaknesses, it is still by and large a party of moderates which is capable of evolving and changing, as are its coalition partners.

So it is like something that is good and at the same time it is bad. I leave that for you to draw your own conclusion.

The Next MCA President?

picture published without permission

I hope that he can be elected the next MCA President and be as bold as his writing on his blog to counter UMNO's wrong doing against the other races.

We wish him all the best in his fight for the Presidency should he go for it.

No, this 'Babi' will Not 'Balik Cina'

No, this 'Babi' will Not 'Balik Cina'

By Farish A. Noor

I have just read the reports on the internet about the goings-on that led to the disruption and early closure of the public forum organised by the Bar Council on Conversion in Malaysia over the weekend. Apart from the other rather offensive remarks that were featured in the various reports that I read, I also chanced upon a rather curious revelation: Apparently during the commotion caused when some of the so-called 'defenders of the faith' had entered the room where the forum was being held, there were calls for a certain 'Babi' to 'Balik Cina'.

Now I have checked and double-checked all the photos that are available on the internet and have seen no image that corresponds to the 'Babi' in question. Therefore for the sake of academic consistency and objectivity, I am compelled to ask the Bar Council this: Was there a pig in the auditorium where the forum was held? And if so, how could the Bar Council invite a pig to attend a forum that was open primarily for Malaysian citizens (who are overwhelmingly human, as identity papers and passports have not been issued to pigs or any other non-human species as far as I know)

Furthermore I need to ask how the demonstrators knew that the pig (if one was present) was of Chinese origin? Did it carry a Chinese passport, and if so, why was it in KL when the Olympic games were being held in Beijing and the world's attention was focused there?

(*ed. I can only assume that this was a rather anti-social pig from China who had come to Malaysia to avoid the throngs of tourists who have overtaken Beijing, which would be a sensible thing that I would have done myself, so I confess to having sympathy with this mysterious invisible pig.)

Lest there be any offence to pigs from China, I would like to remind the demonstrators who made that remark that there are enough pigs in southeast asia and that pigs are, in fact, a native species in the region (including Malaysia). To ask this mysterious pig to 'Balik Cina' was therefore offensive to say the least, as it overlooks the fact that it could have been a local Malaysian pig and therefore has every right to be in Malaysia. Though what it was doing at the bar council's forum is anyone's guess.

Here are some categories of local pigs (genus: Sus, subfamily species: suinea (Latin)) that have shared our very same bumi for centuries:

In Malaysia we have the babi hutan, babirusa (genus: Babyrousa) and wild boar (genus: Sus Scrofa) that have been long-time residents of the peninsula.

In Indonesia, there are also many types of local pigs such as the Sulawesi Babirusa, the Warty pig of Sulawesi (genus: Sus Celebensis), the Timorese Warty Pig (Genus: Sus Timorensis) and the Javanese Warty hog (Genus: sus Verrocosus).

In Vietnam there is of course the Sus Bucculentus, otherwise known as the Indo-Chinese warty pig, while in the Philippines there is the local Sus Cebifrons that hails from the Visayas Islands.

So how dare some people go around making wild allegations about the alleged foreign citizenship and/or origins of a pig that may or may not have been present at the Bar Council forum? To assume the foreign identity and origin of an individual merely on the basis of appearance and behaviour would reek of the highest form of prejudice, and points only to the ignorance of those who simply do not know: PIGS are not foreign to Malaysia or Southeast Asia. They are as localised and normalised as Durians and Corruption in this country.

End.

Dr. Farish A. Noor finds some species of pigs more sympathetic to fascists and racists.

Flag Flying Up Flag Flying Down Or Upside Down

The love for the nation and be patriotic comes from each individual but what the ruling government interpretation is, "You must love us first then only you are patriotic".

Sheih blog kickdefella launched a campaign to fly the Jalur Gemilang upside down as a symbol of the People's Frustration and a signal that the nation is in distress.

Many commentators disagree and posted their comments on various popular blogs.

Rockybru blog has this to say;

I have decided to fly the Jalur Gemilang, full-stop. I will fly it not upside down nor half-mast, but the way it's supposed to be flown. Like Tehsin and Pasquale and Engku Emran (and Marina, Wong Chun Wai and Wattahack), I agree with Sheih that we are a nation in trouble. I won't go on another strike to prove that point because I believe I've proven my point. Full story here.

All I can say is the nation needs a miracle to get itself out of the major troubles and problems that are facing us today.

Every patriotic citizen would want to help out or express their frustration in one way or another and this calling for raising the flag upside down is one of them. It shows a concern but to many this might be the wrong way and this is an opportune for the ruling government to get back at bloggers even if this action is not wrong.

As this is not a favorable action we will let it pass. We hope someone may come out with a better solution on how we can act to solve the nation troubles and problems.

What A Disappointment RTM1 Live Telecast

For those like me who have no Astro depends on RTM1 live coverage of the Olympic Opening Ceremony. RTM promote about the Olympic Games months ago and what a disappointment we had when the Opening Ceremony was telecast live a few hours ago.

First we miss almost half an hour of the starting opening when RTM1 begins at 8:30pm.

Second, too frequent disruption by advertisements.

Third, the two commentators trying to outdo each other by talking too much. We want to hear the music, songs and what are being announced but these two chap keep on talking.

Lastly, RTM1 just finish the program after the Olympic light was torched. They just ignore the display of the fireworks.

Well maybe the cost is too much and they have to make good with whatever fund they have. What a loser. Thumb down for RTM1 live telecast of the Olympic Opening Ceremony.

We will see what happen on the closing ceremony.

Same Crime, One Is Charged, The Other Under Police Protection

Two men plotted and carry out several rapes, robberies and murders. One day, one of them grew tired and decide to lodge a report against the other for the crimes. In the police report he stated that he was forced to commit the crimes. The police sprang into action to gather evidences against the accused and place the accuser under police protection. Finally the accused was charge with the crimes base on amended police report that the accused and the accuser were both committing the crimes on consensual basis. When question why the accuser who committed these crimes together consensually was not charged, the top brass explain that when a person comes forward to report on a matter, the person would be protected. So the story is that if you commit any crime together with a partner and later report your partner to the police, you will be given police protection and will not be charged.

The above is just a make up story and hope that it will never happen in our country.

But sad to say the following news about a sodomy case happening now is going the way like the above story.

A man was today charged on the basis of consensual sodomy, whereby the other who make the police report was under police protection.

Sodomy in this country is a crime and if convicted can be jailed up to 20 years.

Consensual as explain in the oxford dictionary is of or by consent or consensus i.e in consent to the act. So by the law of this country both should be charged of the sodomy case.

The Star report on the Home Minister explanation on why the accused was not charged.

Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan is not being charged because he is the key witness in the sodomy case against PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar.

He said that in a criminal justice system, when a person comes forward to report on a matter, the person would be protected.

"Usually, the victim would be given protection," said Syed Hamid who spoke to reporters after the MoU signing ceremony between Malaysian and Australian Governments on immigration cooperation at a hotel here on Thursday.

Can you believe that, when both parties are consensual to the act, one party can become the victim. How does he suddenly become a victim and also be the key witness to a consensual act of sodomy.

The more the top echelon try to defend Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan the more the public tend to believe this is a conspiracy to kill off a strong political opponent.

Hindraf 5: Giving BN enough rope - Malaysiakini

This is a letter to Malaysiakini which I think everyone must read. The writer Richard Teo have always write good and logical thoughts on specific subjects relating to our country's problems. I reproduce his article without permission but I placed the link to his letter to Malaysiakini.

Richard Teo | Aug 7, 08 3:44pm

I refer to the Malaysiakini report Abdullah unperturbed by drop in popularity.

If the recent Merdeka Centre survey is any indication, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his BN are on a downward slide in the popularity polls.

The 91 percent popular support in 2004 and the downward slide to 42 percent presently is a forceful statement that clearly points to the eventual exit of the ruling government.

One would have expected BN to galvanise their resources and think tanks to address their mistakes and to try and win back the electorate that had abandoned them. But alas, instead they have remained arrogant and clearly have not changed their old habits.

Thinking they could once again fool the rural populace by crying out for Malay unity and playing the racist card, they must have been shocked when their courting was met with a rebuff from the Islamic PAS party.

Before the election, accusations were hurled at the Hindraf movement that they were a ‘terrorist’ organisation. The inspector-general of police even made a public condemnation that they had evidence to support their suspicions.

Now four months after the general election, the five Hindraf leaders remain incarcerated under the ISA and the earlier accusations of ‘terrorist connections’ seem to have evaporated. Yet, despite this glaring lack of evidence, the vengeful BN government - blaming their loss partly on the Hindraf movement - deems it fit to continue to detain the Hindraf five.

There is no doubt in the public’s mind that their continued incarceration is without merit and that the sole purpose of their detention is to punish them for their role in causing the BN to lose their two thirds majority and the five states to the opposition.

By the continued detention of the Hindraf leaders, the government is in a denial mode. The legitimate grievances of the Indian community articulated by the Hindraf movement are real and compelling.

Statistics will reveal a disproportionate number of crimes being committed by the Indians and remand centres and prisons will bear testimony to this serious problem. What is to be expected when government policies have abandoned them, neglecting to give them any aid or employment?

The only salvation offered to them was a life of crime which ultimately lands them in prison. Who can blame them? Every single one of them who committed a crime had a family to feed, parents to care for and a loving wife, all hoping the breadwinner will bring food to the table.

When all these fail, the only recourse is a life of crime.

The government cannot continue to fool the people on the pretext that the Hindraf leaders are supporting ‘terrorist’ activities. If there is any conscience left in them, they should search their hearts deeply and make the right decision.

If there is evidence of their culpability then charge them in a court of law, if not then free them. That is the least we expect of a government that seems to have lost its moral right to govern.

Get The Bloggers If We cannot Get The Tiger

Everyday we are getting sad, bad and Malaysia Boleh style of news. What is the Government trying to do, act powerful, arrogant and couldn't care less what is happening to the country and its rakyat?

My news is a little too late but never less it must be revealed. Another blogger Bakaq Haq of the famous Penarik Beca bloq was arrested last night at his home in Greenwood Park, Gombak under the sedition act.

Together with other bloggers, Kickdefella and Zorro we stand together with Penarik Beca.

The details from Kickdefella:

Bakaq Haq of the famous Penarik Beca bloq was arrested last night at his home in Greenwood Park, Gombak. According to his wife, 4 police personnel picked Bakaq and his laptop around 11 pm.

Around 12.30 am, Wan Joe of JiwoKelate confirmed that Bakaq is in custody at The Commercial Crime Building in Kuala Lumpur. His lawyer, Hanifah Maidin who is also PAS legal adviser confirmed that Bakaq’s arrest was done under the Sedition Act.

Bakaq or his real name is Abdul Rashid Abu Bakar has contributed a lot in revealing the hidden agenda of the infamous Muzakarah between PAS and UMNO. It is so damaging that the Deputy President of PAS, Nasharuddin Mat Isa has made a threat to sue him although later it was proven that much of what Bakaq has revealed is true.

Bakaq is not a member of any political Party but a stern supporter of PAS’s Constitution to form an Islamic Government that shall be fair to all races.

Bloggers and friends of Penarik Beca will gather at Commercial Crime Building near Bank Negara Malaysia at 2 pm today to give morale support to Bakaq.

p/s. Folks, Bakaq is a lovely person. Vocal yet very humble. I beg you to lend him you support in which ever mean he needs.

Do We Need To Beg For Bail?

Update:-
A lawyer answered that this case is a non-bailable offence but it is normally granted.

It is stress that many sodomy cases go on in Malaysia and many are released on bail. So if Anwar's sodomy case is not politically motivated then bail should be granted just like any others.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The judiciary system in Malaysia is no longer practicing the true democratic and professional practice of law. I also include the Bar Council to be blamed for the continue sliding for they dare not stand and fight against it. They may have walk to Putra Jaya but what is the real action they take to dismantle and make good to our judiciary system.

Tomorrow we will have the answer as to whether our judicial system is at its best or worst.

Anwar Ibrahim will be charged according to all the news reports. The question is whether he will be granted bail. Many blog entries and public are either saying that Anwar will not be granted bail or are appealing that bail be granted.

We are assuming that he will be charged for sodomy and for such cases bail should be allowed. Why are the public so concern that bail will not be granted, because they have no confidence in our judiciary system and the judiciary are beholden to the people in power.

The judge presiding over this case must take action according to the rules of law and must not be swayed or intimidated by any parties on his judgement. Do we need to beg for bail if Anwar is charged? If the judge does not grant bail, he must provide a very good reason for doing so.

The burden of proof lies with the prosecutors and Anwar is innocent until proven guilty.

What is the standard of our judiciary system? We shall have the answer by tomorrow.

Hannah Yeoh State Assemblyman(Woman)

With blogs mushrooming so fast in Malaysia, it takes time to search for good blogs. I started by searching for political blogs and will post them after reading through it to select the best. I will try to post at least one good political blog per week.

The political bloggers can be State Assemblymen (Women) or Parliamentarian. The criteria for selection will be based on their posting, informations relevant to the public.

Today I will post about Hannah Yeoh State Assemblyman(Woman)for Subang Jaya.

Reading through her posting makes me feel ashame of myself. I just wonder how she can find time for herself and family with so much work at hand. The way she handles complaints from residents to meeting up with the local council MPSJ to solve problems is just astonishing.

On weekends she attends the residents meeting and also find times to pay a visit to critical individual that needs help.

Well, Subang Jaya folks, you all have elected a very energetic and capable representative, a true Wakil Rakyat.

If you are from Subang Jaya, please help her to enable her to help you all more.

I copy a famous quote from her blog:

"All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finished in the first 1,000 days, nor in the life of this Administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let us begin." ~John F. Kennedy~

A Peaceful Protest, If You Love This Country

Peaceful rallies and demonstrations are not well accepted by the ruling government. Why do people protest against the government, because there must be something very very wrong with the way they govern this country.

Sheih aka Kickdefella initated the Raising My Flag Upside Down which I will join in together with Haris Ibrahim and Zorro.

Sheih's initiative.

Raising My Flag Upside Down

3 08 2008

Dear fellow Malaysians,

Beginning from today, I will raise my Malaysia Flag upside down as a mark of protest. My fellow Malaysians has suffered enough by unjustified policies and flip-flop decisions by the government, not to forget unscrupulous politicking amongst politicians. This country has gone backward in so many aspects.

It has been a long-established custom for us, every August to raise our national flag as a proud Malaysian to mark our Merdeka Day Celebration. I would like to urge my fellow countrymen to keep doing the same this year but let us fly our beloved flag upside down.

The upside down flag is accepted as official signal of distress. By displaying it properly, it is not meant to be or it is not recognised as any type of disrespect

As we were discussing the future of this country, we should realised that Men and Women of this beloved Malaysia begins to suffer more than they have too, some started to lose their jobs while others find it more and more difficult not to lose their sanity.

Some still cry over the lost of Sharlinie and the death of Nurin. These two unfortunate Malaysian are the future of our country and they have brought us together is so many ways; yet, despite the sorrow, what have we achieved?

If you have a reason to disagree with the manner the country is heading, then you have a cause.

BN Playing The Underdog

P44 - Permatang Pauh

12TH General Election Result

Registered Voters - 58449
Turnout - 47934
BN - 16950
PKR - 30348
Spoil Votes - 636

The fight is on after PKR leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail submitted her resignation and pave way for her husband to stand in the by election. PKR is confident of retaining the seat and BN taking the underdog position.

Malaysiakini has this report:

Najib: Permatang Pauh tough for BN

Barisan Nasional expects a tough time in its bid to defeat Anwar Ibrahim in the forthcoming Permatang Pauh by-election, said Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

You seldom see BN playing the underdog position in any elections, be it the General Elections or By Elections. They always start screaming that they are confident of winning, this and that, even the recent 12TH GE, Badawi is so confident of recapturing Kelantan and a big landslide victory.

What happen to this by election in Permatang Pauh, they have lost their voices and admitted that its tough. So they are going in as underdog, playing the act for sympathy votes. They know that the chances of winning is very slim but I won't be surprised if dirty tactics are being used to ensure that BN will come out victorious.

I am not surprised if the EC chairman is now having deep discussion with umno to determine the best polling date, searching through all the rules and regulations for any small loophole that can disqualify Anwar, postal votes, phantom voters and whatever they can get hold of to declare BN the winner.

PKR must be on the alert for any hanky panky by the EC and umno. They are sure trying their best not to allow Anwar to sail into parliament that easily.

Calling all Permatang Pauh voters, please ensure that BN does not just lose but lose the deposit as well. Show Badawi and umno that we the rakyat are fed up with their flip-flop way of running the country. Just change! Berubar Kerajaan
