The fight is on after PKR leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail submitted her resignation and pave way for her husband to stand in the by election. PKR is confident of retaining the seat and BN taking the underdog position.

Malaysiakini has this report:

Najib: Permatang Pauh tough for BN

Barisan Nasional expects a tough time in its bid to defeat Anwar Ibrahim in the forthcoming Permatang Pauh by-election, said Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

You seldom see BN playing the underdog position in any elections, be it the General Elections or By Elections. They always start screaming that they are confident of winning, this and that, even the recent 12TH GE, Badawi is so confident of recapturing Kelantan and a big landslide victory.

What happen to this by election in Permatang Pauh, they have lost their voices and admitted that its tough. So they are going in as underdog, playing the act for sympathy votes. They know that the chances of winning is very slim but I won't be surprised if dirty tactics are being used to ensure that BN will come out victorious.

I am not surprised if the EC chairman is now having deep discussion with umno to determine the best polling date, searching through all the rules and regulations for any small loophole that can disqualify Anwar, postal votes, phantom voters and whatever they can get hold of to declare BN the winner.

PKR must be on the alert for any hanky panky by the EC and umno. They are sure trying their best not to allow Anwar to sail into parliament that easily.

Calling all Permatang Pauh voters, please ensure that BN does not just lose but lose the deposit as well. Show Badawi and umno that we the rakyat are fed up with their flip-flop way of running the country. Just change! Berubar Kerajaan
